Time: Saturday – 8:30 am to 4:00 pm
Location: Linkins Lake Trail (east of Aspen, CO)
What to expect
We will be maintaining the Linkins Lake Trail which is situated in beautiful, alpine setting. Volunteer work will consist of collecting rock, constructing stepping stones, and repairing wet areas of trail. Volunteers may get a little wet or muddy during the day.
Please check in at the RFOV table upon arrival. We will split into crews and head to the work site from the trailhead.
Please bring a sack lunch, snacks, and plenty of water. Project partners (RFOV, Independence Pass Foundation, and Wilderness Workshop) will be providing lite breakfast offerings, dinner, and drinks post project.
8:30 am Registration
9:00 am Start Work
Noon Lunch (sack lunch on the trail)
4:00 pm End Work
4:15 pm Dinner (provided)
What to wear
Long pants are recommended and sturdy, closed toe shoes are required. The best advice is to layer your clothing to be ready for cool mornings and evenings and probable hot weather during the day. Be prepared with a hat, sunscreen, and rain gear. An extra pair of dry clothing (socks, shoes, pants) is recommended as some of the work is in a wet, muddy area.
What to bring
From down-valley of Aspen
Follow Colorado HWY 82 East towards Aspen. Continue through the roundabout and onto Main Street in Aspen. Turn left to E. Cooper Ave at the four-way stop sign. Continue on HWY 82 (Independence Pass) for 17.5 miles. The Linkins Lake/Lost Man Trailhead will be on your left. The RFOV tent will be set up near the parking area. Please register upon arrival.
